Ni Eoghain Lodge is a delightful award winning family home situated in tranquil surroundings just 3 miles from the centre of Armagh, the City of Saints and Scholars and the historic Ecclesiastic Capital of Ireland.
The delightful gardens, recipient of the Shamrock Irish Gardens Award extends to 3 acres, and are a plant’s man’s heaven.
It makes an ideal base for touring all the fabulous sites Ireland has to offer, from the majestic natural wonder of the Giant’s Causeway to the breathtaking man-made structures of Newgrange and the Boyne Valley.
Armagh has something for everyone, from the ancient site of the King’s of Ulster at Navan Fort, home to Queen Macha, Cuchullain and the Red Branch Knights, through to space exploration at the Armagh Planetarium and Observatory.
Armagh was chosen by St Patrick for the site of his first church and, although ransacked and burned 17 times over the centuries, the Church of Ireland Cathedral still stands on the same site 1500 years on. On a hill nearby the twin spires the Roman Catholic Cathedral, begun 150 years ago, also dominate the skyline. Building of the Cathedral halted during the famine and when work resumed the plan had changed. See if you can spot the changes.
